Did you know that you can use cocoa butter to get rid of stretch marks? But first I really must share this with you. My day just gets better and no I probably won’t be going to heaven but the big cat I spoke of in one of my last articles, you remember the one that chased Mr and Mrs Posh next door dear little dog around the field after they had tried to set the dog onto the cat. Well the cat has taken an interest in their fishpond. He has shown total disregard for the line up of gnome sentries, plunged his two front legs in the water and emerged with a rather large gold fish which he has no intention of letting go despite Mr Posh running down the garden after him and using a not so posh choice of words. Humiliation twice in one day, I really don’t know.
OK enough of the fun, this article is supposed to be about stretch mark removal and cocoa and as always, I don’t need an excuse to side track and if I don’t finish this article today I will miss the sensation of feeling my legs being stretched on the golf course tomorrow.
Cocoa butter is helpful to prevent stretch marks. It is a natural edible vegetable fat, which comes from the cacao bean. It is extracted and one of its uses is to make toiletries. I must add hear that not all of you will appreciate its mild chocolate aroma. There are many proprietary creams for stretch marks that contain cocoa butter. It has a low melting point but remains solid at room temperature, so when applied to the skin it melts immediately into the stretch mark. It contains natural antioxidant and has a shelf life of between two and five years. Many people use this product to lessen the effects of stretch marks.
Another popular product to remove stretch marks and also used in a number of skin care cream is Shea butter. Shea nut butter is obtained from the Shea tree by boiling after it has been crushed; this like cocoa butter is also edible and widely thought to help prevent stretch marks forming when massaged into the skin. If you will read the next article you will see that you can also use egg whites to get rid of stretch marks.
