I promised you more on getting rid of stretch marks, so here it is. Firstly let me tell you this. For some unknown reason my wife invited our new neighbors, you know our “posh friends” which I have mentioned before around for a drink last night. This is one occasion that really must never be repeated again, total humiliation in every sense of the word. Isn’t it strange that at social get-togethers, there is always some poor sod that spills their drink on the sofa? It was “ME.”
With that out of the way, one of the simplest and least expensive ways of getting rid of stretch marks and also to prevent stretch marks is to drink at least eight glasses of water a day. Drinking water replaces body fluids lost during perspiration and promotes elasticity. As well as an aid to getting rid of stretch marks water keeps skin from wrinkling and leaves it resilient, healthy and younger looking.
My daughter has often mentioned that throughout her pregnancy her stomach itches. She was advised to keep her nails short to avoid scratching and damaging her skin when applying any cream for stretch marks during her pregnancy. This is because scratches can worsen tears to the skin that result in stretch marks. She was also told to either rub a soft piece of material or the tips of her fingers gently over her stomach to relieve the itchiness.
There are many therapies and treatments to get rid of stretch marks such as the use of retinoids. These are a mix of chemicals including tretinoin, isotretinoin or retinaldehyde . These stretch mark products have shown favorable results but must be used under medical supervision. When using any skin care cream for getting rid of stretch marks it will be far more effective if you have a warm shower first. This is because the pores will be open and the skin more receptive. All you need to do is rub the cream or lotion over your skin and let it soak in.
This evening my wife and I are going to the theater, I am looking forward to this, especially as it will mean I don’t need to be on the computer or reading pamphlets into ways of getting rid of stretch marks and as my daughter is not going with us, there will be no talk of stretch marks either. Bliss.
