I have spent an afternoon on the golf course and left my wife and daughter sorting through clothes for the new baby. It is so good to escape from their incessant chattering about babies and stretch mark removal. My usual partner was unable to attend this afternoon but I met up with someone in the club in the same predicament. However, it seems there can be no reprieve from talk of stretch marks as my new partner’s hobbies are not limited to golf he also enjoys weight lifting and muscle building and is also interested in how to get rid of bodybuilding stretch marks.
Surprise, surprise, this actually turned out to be an interesting afternoon and an excellent game of golf. John (my golfing partner) explained that bodybuilders are attempting to create a well-sculpted body and the last thing most want to see are imperfect scars in the form of stretch marks. He has been attending a gym to learn and receive instructions in correct weight lifting methods, for several months now and has gained a fair amount of muscle.
However he admits being mortified the first time he flexed his muscle in the mirror and saw a purplish scar (stretch mark) staring back at him. He is very knowledgeable regarding the skin and related how it is made up of three layers the epidermis, dermis and hypodermis and gave me some interesting tips. Stretch marks are tears in the dermis and can be classed as scars but in fact they represent the thin epidermis, which has been flattened and overlies the gaps in the dermis, which have been left by the torn or overstretched elastin fibers.
Builders prefer to prevent stretch marks by eating a balanced diet, drinking a large quantity of water and taking vitamins. Aerobic exercise is also beneficial as it improves circulation. I was informed anyone interested in weight lifting or bodybuilding would definitely not smoke as this causes the skin to lose its elasticity and can be a cause of stretch marks.
Some common remedies and natural skin care products body builders use are emu oil, vitamin E, fish oil and cocoa butter to get rid of stretch marks. Zinc supplementation is known to help increase the production of collagen. Some have been known to consider laser surgery, dermabrasion, surgical removal or chemical peels. You can use all of those to get rid of bodybuilding stretch marks. You just have to find out which product or treatment will work best for you. Prescription stretch mark cream such as Tretinoin Retin-A or is another option. At this point I felt it only fair to share my discovery of Trilastin with him, which he is going to look into.
