Many women ask the question if is there an operation to get rid of stretch marks available. They may find that during pregnancy or after a substantial weight loss that stretch marks form over the stomach area. This is because the skin lost its elastic properties as it has been excessively stretched over the period of the pregnancy. Additionally many find that their abdominal muscles are weak and the skin is flabby. They may try diet and exercise without success, anxiety and self consciousness exist, which leads them to look for a treatment that works.
Cosmetic surgery, though expensive is great If you long to get your pre-baby body back, and having a tummy tuck will remove all the lose skin and get rid of stretch marks at the same time. After the operation you will find that you have a firmer flatter stomach. You may also decide to have liposuction at the same time to create a slimmer waistline. This method will even remove the oldest scars. A tummy tuck and stretch mark removal is not a treatment for weight control. It is not a substitute for regular exercise and the need a healthy balanced diet.
It is always best to prevent stretch mark during pregnancy but if this has not been successful and you can afford an operation then there are some other considerations. If you are on the contraceptive pill you will need another method for six weeks before hand to reduce the risk of thrombosis after the operation.
A tummy tuck will show good results if you are your ideal weight for your height if not you may need to consider losing some weight before you can lose your affected skin. If you smoke you will need to give up or at least cut back as this slows the healing process of the skin and increases risk of chest infections.
If this all seems rather daunting to you, then perhaps you may consider laser surgery. This uses Excimer lasers, and works very well on older scars by restoring the natural pigmentation in the skin. This type of laser uses an ultra violet light that is extremely high powered, an excellent remedy for stretch marks. Some store bought creams that get rid of stretch marks are also recommended.
So you don’t have to wonder anymore if is there an operation to get rid of stretch marks available. There is a variety of treatments you can choose from. Just in case you are wondering what is wrong with me today no talk of golf or my garden, just straight facts, which is so out of character, then perhaps you might like to consider why a badly struck golf ball always lands frowning and never smiling, take a look next time and see if I’m not right.

Good morning or what ever it happens to be in your corner of the world. Don’t worry too much, I’m not going philosophical on you, I was just thinking corners of the world because the title of this article is “get rid of stretch marks on a black girl.”
As you all probably know by now, once a week my wife and daughter have a get together in our lounge which they call “exercise during pregnancy group” well they do talk about exercise and tongues must become extremely stretched, as they talk about their pregnancy, how to prevent stretch marks, baby clothes, nutrition and stretch mark removal. I guess you get the idea, bottomless teapot and because of their condition, endless trips to the toilet.
Today is going to be slightly different an expert has agreed to join them to talk about stretch mark removal and look at ethnicity, black skin and a stretch mark cream. This part of the meeting will only last for an hour so I shall join in for this portion only and see what I can learn and then escape to my greenhouse.
The skin on a black girl is darker because she has more melanin in her skin. This pigment protects against sunlight, which in turn slows down the aging process. Consequently this keeps black skinned women looking younger than their white counterparts. And there is a good idea for my article tomorrow. How do teenagers get rid of stretch marks? Let’s go back to today’s topic, hyper-pigmentation or darkening or the skin is a problem as their skin scars and stretch marks form so easily.
She generally will have excessive natural oils in the face but a dry ashy skin on the body. African American skin is inclined to lose elasticity more easily which results in loose skin and stretch marks. The black girl or woman often finds plucking or shaving, which can result in the formation of dark spots, easily irritates her skin.
Black skin needs heavy oil like shea butter to penetrate deep into the skin so that it is well hydrated though not overly oily. This is also a good product to use during pregnancy. A sunscreen should be used daily to prevent uneven pigmentation. Interestingly enough shea butter contains large quantities of Cinnamic acid, which is a natural sunscreen. Creams containing Retin- A or Tretinoin are suggested for dealing with hyper-pigmentation.
One of the best creams available to get rid of stretch marks on a black girl is Trilastin SR, as this has been proven to work on all skin types and comes with a solid guarantee and is available world wide. It is a bit expensive but I don’t mind paying an extra buck for stuff that works.

Some people say egg whites get rid of stretch marks. But because of a recent experience of mine I have decided to devote it entirely to the eggs. Why? Well what is the saying “egg on your face” when you are feeling humiliated, well that’s me. If you follow my articles regularly you will know that I have a daughter who is pregnant for the fourth time living three doors away and my wife who keep me very busy trying to find information on products for stretch mark removal.
You will also be aware of the fact that I enjoy a good game of golf and that this takes me away from the topics of health, fitness, natural skin care, my daughter’s aches and pains during pregnancy. Consequently this is why I enjoy giving my legs a good stretching on the golf course.
However, don’t ever play golf with your boss or in my case your son-in-laws boss, it’s a definite no-no. You may get away with missing the ball and spending eighty percent of the day in a bunker, this can be assumed as bad luck. Continually talking when he is trying to take a shot – NO, and guess what he will be equally unimpressed if you beat him and SO will your son in law. So you see I stretched more than my legs.
With that out of the way, egg whites are highly effective in getting rid of stretch marks. You can use the powder or separate it from the yoke of the egg. They supply the skin with a rich source of protein.
Me, I like to eat my egg and they are good for the eyes. Studies have shown that just eating one egg a day can prevent macular degeneration. Another study discovered eating eggs everyday lowers the risk of cataracts developing. I know this has nothing to do with stretch mark but I thought you might be interested.
Did you know that one egg contains six grams of protein and nine of the essential amino acids, now this is interesting because amino acids form the building blocks of the skin and tissues. In this way egg whites could be valuable to prevent stretch marks and to repair the skin, especially as eggs are known for there high sulphur content which promotes healthy nails and hair. Tomorrow you can discover how to get rid of flabby skin and stretch marks.
In conclusion, those people who say that egg whites get rid of stretch marks are probably right.

My daughter has been to our local natural health centre to see what she can do to get rid of stretch marks on thigh. This is her fourth pregnancy and she wants to prevent stretch marks forming during this pregnancy and is thinking about ways to remove the older ones on which run from the top of her knee into the thigh.
The result of this visit is a booklet full of stretch mark remedies and skin care products plus general advice, so I will share some of this with you. The most important advice she received was that during pregnancy anything she decided to use should be discussed with her doctor because some creams and lotions made specifically for stretch marks contain ingredients that could be passed to the unborn baby or taint the breast milk.
She was given advice on diet and exercise: Drink loads of water. Sufficient hydration maintains your soft and supple skin, which is less likely to develop stretch marks. Caffeine can add some extra risk. Stretch marks can also be caused by a nutritional deficiency. Ensure you eat foods that support skin health such as fish, nuts, citrus fruits, milk and eggs.
A few quick tips for you, brush the skin on your thighs with a loofah or skin brush whenever you have a shower, use baby oil and massage, use an apricot scrub, use vitamin k cream, massage flaxseed oil several times a day, try an anti-cellulite cream, fresh aloe Vera gel with lemon juice and try out some acne creams.
They were also promoting a new skin care product called Trilastin. This cream guarantees results within sixty days or they give your money back. Trilastin can help give your skin the essential elements needed to help sustain its maximum elasticity to prevent stretch marks, and get rid of existing stretch marks by using the latest technologies of advanced Virtual Patch and Filling Micro-Sphere.
This stretch mark cream is an all-inclusive mix of proteins, peptides, humectants and anti-oxidants, purposely prepared to work in harmony together. The proprietary blend of eleven scientifically researched bioactive components can significantly diminish the length and depth of scared tissue any where on the body including the thigh. Good morning/afternoon or what ever time it is in your part of the world. Today I am going to talk about a remedy for stretch marks. My inspiration this morning comes from my green house. Some years ago, I found a discarded Aloe Vera, it had almost turned brown, and so I picked it up and re-potted it. My Aloe Vera has rewarded my for the first time this year with the most wonderful orange flowers.
Just in case you are wondering what this has to do with a remedy for stretch marks, I would say everything. When the Aloe Vera gel is removed from the center of the Aloe leaf, you will discover nature’s miraculous therapeutic gift. Aloe Vera gel makes an excellent skin care product to use during pregnancy and afterwards. Many commercial brands specifically made as a remedy for stretch marks contain Aloe Vera.
Stretch marks form because of the skin stretching beyond its limits over a period of time and insufficient collagen and elastin in the dermis. Aloe Vera stimulates the cells in the dermis to produce more collagen and rejuvenates the skin in this way it is also useful to prevent stretch marks.
My wife and daughter are very lucky, as they do not have to go and buy Aloe Vera gel as a remedy for stretch marks. My plant is extremely large and appreciates having a trim occasionally. A sharp knife is all that is required to remove the outer skin and the gel is then available to them. If you are considering laser surgery to remove stretch marks, Aloe Vera can be used to soothe the irritation, which you might experience afterwards.
As I mentioned earlier Aloe Vera is a great healer not only as a remedy for stretch marks but also useful to prevent wrinkles, as a moisturizer for dry skin, relieve inflammation and burns, treat bruises and reduce swelling. Additionally it protects the skin from the effects of smoke, dust, and sun. When you use Aloe Vera as a remedy for stretch marks, you will find you also keep your skin youthful and fresh looking.
Next time you are at the shopping mal, supermarket or garden center why not pick your self up a plant. Mine sits under the bench in my greenhouse and requires very little attention but a small plant will be perfectly happy on a windowsill. You will then be able to tell all your friends, I grow my own stretch mark remedy and my own remedy for dry skin. Best of all, your beautiful stretch mark free skin will be your testimony.

This is the second part of tips on how to prevent stretch marks. The first concerned a couple of patents, which I encountered for maternity braces. However I could find no evidence of this particular brace actually in production, although there are others, perhaps it was adapted along the way, who knows? What I do know though is that my daughter and her “exercise during pregnancy” group were extremely interested in this patent that was filed in October 2000 and gave it great consideration in their discussions on how to prevent stretch marks.
Whilst trying to find out how to prevent stretch marks, I encountered another patent, which was filed in March 1997. This is a way to prevent stretch marks during pregnancy by diagonally taping a polyurethane sheet backed with adhesive over the stomach area for most of the pregnancy period. The theory behind this development seems to be preventing the stretch marks, which are caused because of skin tension. Once again if you know any more about this product and whether it was ever developed – let us know.
Putting all this aside lets look at what you can do in the here and now to prevent stretch marks so you won’t have to think about laser surgery for stretch marks later. Firstly it is important during your pregnancy to eat balanced healthy diet to keep your weight gain within the suggested range of twenty to twenty five pounds. First-rate nutrition is not only important to the developing baby but also is a factor in the health and strength of your largest organ in your body, the skin. Also a steady weight gain allows your skin to stretch at a steady rate, so it is less likely that stretch marks will form. If you massage the areas of existing stretch marks or areas where you wish to prevent stretch marks, this will increase circulation which can be beneficial.
During pregnancy, keep the skin substantially and effectively moisturized. Try out one of the many stretch mark or skin care products and keep to the instructions. These are specially formulated to prevent stretch marks and will help keep your skin elastic and supple. Most contain vitamins, which additionally act as a skin food and enhance the production of collagen and support the dermis. This protects the skin despite the vast stretching.
Hope you have enjoyed the article. It’s time for a well deserved break. Speak to you soon.

This is the second part of reduce stretch marks. In the first one I gave most of my attention to the stretch mark itself, how it forms, what it looks like and the number of people who suffer from stretch marks and at the very end I promised that this article would tell you about Aloe Vera and how it can reduce stretch marks.
Just a quick reminder what stretch marks are, they are the result of the skin stretching and loosing its elastic effect due to damage in the middle or dermal layer of the skin. This usually happens during pregnancy but there are other causes and a vast number of individuals of both sex are affected. This is why you should ask yourself how to prevent stretch marks because removing them is harder.
Then before proceeding further I ought to say that Aloe Vera is not the only way to reduce stretch marks. Stretch mark reducing and removal is possible by laser treatment, stretch mark cream and other skin care products. Many of these skin care products are also highly beneficial if you also suffer from dry skin.
If you are interested in nutrition as a way to healthy skin you might also be interested in the fact that there are two amino acids that are valuable to reduce stretch marks, namely Proline and Glycine. I will look at these in more depth in an article in the future.
Sometimes I am inclined to go around the houses, have you noticed that? But now I will talk about Aloe Vera to reduce stretch marks, just as I promised. Aloe Vera is more often than not called the “natural healer” or “miracle plant.” It stays hydrated in conditions that cause other plants to die and wilt, this is due to its ability to close its pores and avoid loss of moisture. The gel of the Aloe Vera can be harvested from the leaves and used as a health drink and it can be used as a skin care product. Many commercial blends made into a stretch mark cream to reduce stretch marks include Aloe Vera. It contains a large number of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and amino acids. In fact it contains over seventy-five valuable components. Aloe Vera contains plant collagen and is able to penetrate to the dermal layer and repair the damage that has caused the stretch marks.
Not only does Aloe Vera reduce stretch marks it is functional as a moisturizer for dry skin, prevents and reduces wrinkle, reducing the swelling in bruises, soothes skin irritation, sunburn and general burns and if you drink the juice, will protect your skin and general health from inside out. Consequently when you use Aloe Vera to reduce stretch marks you can also attain a healthy young looking skin.

Hello, as I am determined to get in a game of golf this afternoon, I will not waste anytime with small talk today and will begin talking to you about preventing stretch marks. There are many natural oils and creams that you can use throughout you pregnancy.
Science classes stretch marks as a form of scarring. Stretch marks are the consequence of skin being stretched further than its natural elasticity. This stretching interferes with the body’s collagen production. Collagen is what keeps the skin elastic and able to stretch as you gain weight.
To help prevent getting stretch marks, it is essential to keep a close eye on weight gain. During pregnancy you need to put on weight as a normal part of the childbearing process but you should be mindful that you do not put on more weight than your doctor recommends. This does not mean that you should starve yourself throughout pregnancy to avoid your skin over stretching and forming stretch marks. Just take care to eat sensible, healthily and gain weight slowly. This allows the skin to gradually stretch and retain its elasticity.
Some tips on preventing stretch marks during pregnancy. Olive polyphenols are known to fight free radicals and prevent their toxic effects. Use extra virgin olive oil as a skin care product during pregnancy, also take a spoonful of oil daily or mix with salads. If you don’t like the taste, you can buy olive oil capsules. Another way to improve the elasticity of your skin during pregnancy is to rub cocoa butter, although not everyone likes the smell of this product. One of the best ways of preventing stretch marks during pregnancy is coconut oil. It not only softens the skin but also promotes healing and protects against damage. As mentioned above most stretch marks are caused through connective tissue damage. Coconut oil actually helps to keep connective tissues strong and supple and in some cases can restore damaged skin.
A friend of my daughters, who is taking a course in skin care and essential oils, recommends using neroli, mandarin or lavender essential oils for preventing stretch marks during pregnancy. These oils are not used neat but a few drops are blended with carrier oil and massaged into the skin. Taking light exercise is also useful for preventing stretch marks as you gain less fat, stay fitter and regain your figure quicker afterwards.
I will speak to you more on preventing stretch marks after I have stretched my legs and given my golf clubs some exercise, speak to you soon.

The best defense that any woman can have, if she hopes to prevent stretch marks is a healthy skin and it is here that good genetics help as well. This is because the forming of a stretch mark can be hereditary. This may be the problem in our household you see my wife had stretch marks after the birth of our daughter. Our daughter who is in her fourth pregnancy is concerned about the stretch marks she has and the ones she might get.
I myself would say the best defense is to be a man, well I know that men can also get stretch marks but it’s so rare to hear a man ask how he can remove stretch marks or maybe we wouldn’t want to talk about such things. I don’t know, but in this household, how to get rid of stretch marks and treatment for stretch marks is definitely for the women. The main concerns in my life, my garden, green house and keeping my golf clubs clean and taking them out for a nice long walk at least three times a week.
You are probably wondering how to maintain a good skin and prevent stretch marks. Firstly drink plenty of fluids as a well-hydrated skin stretches better. A balanced diet contains carbohydrates, proteins, fats, mineral salts and fiber. You may consider that you already eat a balanced diet but does your diet contain enough of the essential vitamins and minerals required by your skin?
As this is article is concerned with prevention of stretch marks, I will talk a little about the main vitamins and minerals which your skin needs. Vitamin C is needed to assist the body in repairing itself, for the production of collagen and is important to help heal scar tissue and wounds. Vitamin E is useful both inside and outside of the body. When taken as a supplement it is a powerful antioxidant for protecting and healing the skin. When a capsule is broken and the oil massage over the stomach area during pregnancy it is useful to prevent stretch marks. The best supplement to take in order to prevent stretch marks is zinc. This is because zinc assists in the production of collagen. Taking a light exercise during pregnancy improves circulation and benefits the skin.
At last I have found a supplement that I have something in common with. I am talking about silica. Silica is found in hair, skin and nails and taking a silica supplement is another way to prevent stretch marks because it keeps the skin moisturized healthy and strong. Why this interested me is because one of the vegetables I enjoy growing and eating the most is beetroot and it contains a lot of silica.

Hello, welcome to part one of how to prevent stretch marks. Well according to my wife and daughter nobody wants to develop stretch marks. My daughter says pregnancy is bad enough. She and her friend run a club each week in our lounge called “exercise during pregnancy” I believe I have mentioned this before, they spend a great deal of time talking about all aspects of pregnancy and the awaited arrival of the baby.
Their topics are rife with words that begin differently like preventing, prevention, skin care product, removal, get rid of, and guess what they all finish the same with stretch marks. To be fair to them they also have a moan about all the negatives of pregnancy, the constant trips to the toilet, backache, nausea and tiredness. Then there’s dry skin, skin care products, baby clothes and of course how much weight they’ve gained.
So actually that’s quite a lot of words, far more than you will ever find on the golf course. We do use some funny terms though, like, lining up the third putt. All this really means is that you are having a bad hole. It just possible that I have wandered away from the subject of how to prevent stretch marks, I wonder why. Maybe I have ADD.
A good tip for prevention, (just in case I am confusing you, we are talking about stretch marks again), is to eat a well balanced nutritional diet and drink plenty of water. Water is crucial to healthy skin. If you think that drinking coffee, tea or other manufactured beverages and believe these are desirable substitutes for the natural water need of your body, then this is a terrible mistake.
Be aware that to prevent stretch marks, it must be water; it is true that these other drinks contain water but they also include a dehydrating agent, which dehydrate the water they are dissolved in, and additionally the reserves of your body. This causes your skin to be dehydrated and dry and adds to the risk of stretch marks forming during pregnancy.
My daughter and her friends have been experimenting with different stretch mark creams and skin care products containing cocoa butter and Vitamin E in an attempt to prevent stretch marks. There are plenty of creams containing these ingredients claiming to prevent, reduce and get rid of stretch marks. Always massage them well into the skin as this stimulates the circulation, speeding up the action of the cream. You might want to experiment and see what works for you. It always takes a few weeks for cream to take effect. I will let you know the results but I hear that Trilastin does the trick.
